What happens to your data.

Written against what the app and this site actually do, not from a template.

Unfinished. The legal entity, where it is, and the address for data requests haven't been set yet. Until they are, this page names nobody rather than inventing a company.

The app

Wrap runs on your Mac and uploads nothing.

  • Recordings, the event log, transcripts and projects stay on your disk. Transcription runs on the Mac.
  • There is no telemetry and no crash reporting. "Copy diagnostics" puts a report on your clipboard, and Wrap sends nothing.
  • Secrets are masked in the event log before it is written. On-device OCR looks for API keys on screen and proposes a blur.
  • Your agent connects over a local MCP server on 127.0.0.1. What your agent sends to its own provider is governed by that provider's terms, not these.
  • On first run, Wrap downloads the speech model, about 470 MB. That is the one download it makes.
  • Beta builds make no license check. When licensing ships, the check will send this site a license key, a device id made by the app, and the Mac's name you chose. Nothing about what you recorded.

This site

The site keeps as little as it can.

  • Waitlist: your email address, where on the site you joined, and when. One welcome note when you join, and the download link when a build is ready, both sent by this site. The address is also added to Dan Vega's list on beehiiv, in a segment for Wrap only, for news about the beta. No newsletter.
  • Account: your email address, a password hash (bcrypt), when you confirmed the address. In the beta, the invite code that let you in.
  • Logs: production logs mask email addresses and link tokens. They name an account by its id.

There are no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels and no third-party fonts. The one third party on a page is YouTube, and only after you press play on the video, from youtube-nocookie.com.

Who handles it

  • Resend delivers the emails this site sends: the welcome note, confirmations and reset links.
  • beehiiv holds the waitlist copy, as a segment of Dan Vega's newsletter list.
  • Railway hosts the site and its database.

Your choices

  • Leave the waitlist, delete your account, or ask what is held about you: email the contact address, once it is set.
  • Session cookies keep you logged in and nothing else. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Who we are

Not set yet. Wrap is made by Dan Vega. The selling entity, its jurisdiction and the contact address will appear here when they are configured.
